ResumenIntroducción y objetivosEl grupo de trabajo de la Sociedad Española de Cirugía Torácica y Cardiovascular (SECTCV) presenta su primer informe con el registro de la actividad de la cirugía reparadora de las válvulas mitral, aórtica y tricúspide realizadas en España los años 2009 a 2011.MétodosLos datos se obtienen mediante participación voluntaria y fueron analizados para su publicación en las reuniones del grupo de trabajo celebradas en los meses de junio y octubre de 2012 en Sevilla, coincidiendo con los congresos nacionales de la SECTCV y la Sociedad Española de Cardiología. Se reportan datos comparativos de la cirugía valvular.ResultadosSe ofrecen datos de 33 centros que representan aproximadamente el 80% de la actividad quirúrgica del país. Se observa un incremento progresivo en el número de total de intervenciones valvulares y de reparaciones durante los 3 años, realizándose 8.878 (1.581 reparaciones), 9.530 (1.709) y 9.711(1.888) en 2009, 2010 y 2011, respectivamente. El porcentaje de cirugía de reparación/cirugía de recambio en 2011 fue del 3% para la válvula aórtica, del 33% para la válvula mitral y del 91% para la válvula tricúspide.ConclusionesEl primer Registro Nacional de Cirugía Reparadora Valvular representa la consolidación de actividades del grupo de trabajo. La elevada participación de centros hace fiables sus datos y nos permite por primera vez realizar una valoración del estado actual de la cirugía reparadora en el país. Estos datos sirven de referencia para compararse con los de otros países.
Introduction and objectivesThe working group of the Spanish Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (SECTCV) presents its first report with the registry of reconstructive valve surgery of the mitral, aortic and tricuspid valves performed in Spain between 2009 and 2011.MethodsData were collected retrospectively on a voluntary participation basis. These data were analysed for publication in the working group meetings held in June and October 2012 in Seville, coinciding with the national congress of the SECTCV and the Spanish Society of Cardiology. Comparative data are reported with valve replacement surgery.ResultsData are available from 33 centers representing approximately 80% of the surgical activity in the country. There is a progressive increase in the number of all valvular interventions and valve repair procedures during the three years, performing 8,878 (1,581 repairs), 9,530 (1,709) and 9,711(1,888) in 2009, 2010 y 2011, respectively. The percentage of surgical repair/replacement surgery in 2011 was 3% for the aortic valve, 33% for mitral valve and 91% for the tricuspid valve.ConclusionsThe first National Valvular Repair Surgery Registry represents the consolidation of the working group activities. The high participation of centers makes it reliable and allows us, for the first time, make an assessment of the current state of the country reconstructive valve surgery. These data provide a benchmark for comparison with other countries.
