Abstract
Antiplatelet therapy plays a key role in the management of non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome. However, the principle challenge of treatment is to reduce the recurrence of ischemic events without increasing the risk of bleeding. As a result, a number of antiplatelet therapy protocols have been proposed and new treatments are being developed. This paper describes the main antiplatelet drugs available today for the treatment of non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome and provides a review of recent scientific findings.
