Abstract
Hypersensitivity reactions are one of the drug-related problems that occur in patients using acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in their pharmacological therapy. One process that has been used to correct this problem is desensitisation, which involves the administration of doses of the drug progressively to enhance patient tolerance to ASA, by generating down regulation of leukotriene receptors. The cases are presented of 3 patients who underwent this procedure, using 2 different protocols, with positive results on its use.
