Abstract
This article reviews how to identify and risk-stratify patients at risk for developing coronary artery disease (CAD) or who already have CAD (or coronary risk equivalents), and how to manage their lipids. This discussion is directed toward nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, who can and should play a pivotal role in identifying these patients and assisting the supervising physicians in management.
