Abstract
Oroantral fistula (OAF) is an epithelialized communication between the oral cavity and maxillary sinus. This article describes the use of a turn over flap pedicled to the sinus membrane and harvested from the edentulous area immediately anterior or posterior to the defect for closure of chronic OAF. We describe a case of long standing OAF of 15 years duration that was closed at our unit using this new technique. An attempt is also made to discuss the prerequisites for the use of this technique.
