Abstract
Osteochondroma is a relatively common benign skeletal bone tumor. Although this lesion rarely affects the maxillofacial bones, the paracondylar region of the mandible is the most frequent site of occurrence. Extracondylar and coronoid process osteochondroma of the mandible is extremely uncommon. This report describes a rare and unexpected case of osteochondroma, on a 60-year-old female, discovered on the alveolar process of the mandible during a routine procedure. An updated review of the literature on extracondylar and coronoid process osteochondroma of the mandible is also presented.
