Abstract
Dirofilaria is a parasite of domestic and wild animals that can infect humans secondarily by mosquito vector. Human dirofilariasis is rare which is most commonly seen in tropical, subtropical and temperate areas. It is a Zoonotic infection. We report the case of a patient which is the 13th reported case of dirofilaria infection in the oral cavity. The patient presented with swelling in the lower buccal vestibule; however, a parasitic infection was not suspected in the differential diagnosis. The diagnosis was reached only after histopathological examination. The clinical features and management of this interesting lesion is discussed.
