Abstract
UV radiation has high energy and can be divided into UVA, UVB and UVC. Each of them penetrates the skin to different depths. Some parts of UV are absorbed by ozone layer so it is very important to maintain its integrity. To measure UV radiation we can use, inter alia, UV index. Ultraviolet's influence has not only positive aspects such as: production of vitamin D3, disinfection, therapeutic effect, relaxing effect or production of tissue adhesives, but also many negative as: photoaging, photodermatosis, excessive pigmentation or even cancer.
