Abstract

SummaryIntramedullary pressure during reaming is influenced by various factors, including those of the patient, such as bone morphology and location and type of fracture, and those related to reaming technique and instruments. Through intensive research, technical developments and the use of modern materials, intramedullary pressure caused by modern reaming systems can be reduced to a minimum and, perhaps, completely avoided through use of the reamingirrigation-aspiration system.
