Abstract
SummaryInflammatory changes after trauma depend on the severity and the distribution of the injury and can be modified by the medical treatment. They precede the development of organ dysfunction and may be used for monitoring purposes. Among these, pro-inflammatory cytokines appear to be the most reliable parameters.
