Abstract
The study investigated the effects of a German prevention program “KfdN” in the sample of 152 burdened mothers and children who took part in this program and 150 comparison group families. The data were collected at five measurement points. The improved level of children' social development after intervention compared to children from the CG was confirmed. The mothers in the KfdN-group judged their children less “difficult” and the dysfunctionality of the mother–child interaction was reduced. The results of the 1-year and 2-year follow-up obtained long-term effects in the areas of maternal assessment of the child’s “difficulty” and their parenting behavior.
