Abstract
In critically ill non neutropenic patients there are four broad approaches for the management of antifungal treatment for invasive candidiasis: prophylaxis, empirical, pre-emptive therapy and treatment of established infections. All these approaches in relationship with risk strategies and microbiological indirect laboratory techniques for establishing invasive candidiasis will be discussed.
