Abstract
This paper presents a new approach to design controllers for time-delay systems by using genetic algorithms (GAs) together with the solvability of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Both of the state-feedback controller and the static output feedback controller can be designed with this approach. It is confirmed by numerical examples that this approach achieves less conservative results than previously existing methods on the given examples.
