Educación e inclusión: El aporte del profesional de la salud

ResumenEl propósito principal de este trabajo es informar a profesionales del área de la salud que atienden niños, niñas y jóvenes con condiciones físicas o mentales que los afectan durante la etapa preescolar y escolar -las que muchas veces se traducen en serias dificultades de aprendizaje y de adaptación- acerca de importantes iniciativas que se llevan a cabo en educación, que han sido reguladas por la normativa vigente. El educador de aula regular puede realizar una labor mucho más efectiva si tiene la ventaja de contar con la orientación y una adecuada interacción con estos profesionales, conocedores de variables que inciden directamente en el comportamiento de esos estudiantes. Trabajo colaborativo, asistencia técnica, diálogo y compartir información, contribuyen a un necesario marco de participación. En la medida que trabajan juntos, construyen tanto conocimiento como favorables interacciones.

SummaryThe main purpose of this work is to inform health professionals looking after children and young people with physical or mental conditions that affect them during preschool and school - often resulting in severe learning and adaptation difficulties -about important initiatives carried out in education, that have been regulated by current legislation. The regular classroom teacher can make a much more effective work if he has de advantage of having the guidance and proper interaction with these professionals, experts in variables directly affecting the behavior of these students. Collaborative work, technical assistance, dialogue and information sharing, contribute to a needed participatory framework. As they work together, they build both knowledge and advantageous relationships.
