Abstract
⺠Sodium orthovanadate increases outflow facility and lowers intraocular pressure in live monkeys. ⺠Vanadate reversibly disrupts the actin cytoskeleton and cell adhesion architecture of cultured trabecular meshwork cells. ⺠Altered actin architecture in the trabecular meshwork may play a role in the effect of vanadate on outflow facility.
