Abstract
⺠We investigated the construction of fix-free codes with given codeword compositions. ⺠A fix-free code with the same codeword compositions for a given distinct code. ⺠The optimal fix-free codes with uniform distribution for general letter costs. ⺠A near optimal fix-free code with a given constant cost.
