Abstract
A rectangular reconfigurable, 1 × 8 linear array antenna has been designed and developed for tri-band, S, C and X-band applications. The antenna is excited along with the combination of PIN diodes to achieve the frequency and pattern reconfigurability. The design has been validated using a linear array fabricated on RT duroid 5880 substrate (ɛr = 2.2). The individual patch antenna consists of nine rectangular radiating elements. The measured results are having a good agreement with the simulated one.
