Abstract

A relay selection based differential chaos shift keying (DCSK) cooperative diversity scheme is proposed, namely DCSK selection relaying (DCSK-SR). Multiple multiple-input multiple-output (Multiple MIMO) relays are used to cooperate with the source node. The relays and the destination employ multiple antennas to exploit the benefit of diversity combining. The relay which maximizes the total received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the destination is selected for cooperation, where all the relays adopt decode-and-forward (DF) protocol. Probability density function (PDF) of the SNR of the received signal at each hop is derived. The bit-error-rate (BER) of the proposed scheme is evaluated in Nakagami-m fading channels. Results show that the proposed scheme performs better compared to the single MIMO relay cooperation scheme. Numerical and simulation results are obtained and plotted for the parameters of interest.
