Abstract
This paper proposes a simple and high performance least square solver using recursive update of modified Cholesky factors. While most of the methods require inversion of correlation matrix, the proposed method is based on recursive updating of the modified Cholesky factors of correlation matrix and linear prediction error to estimate time varying channel coefficient, without finding the correlation matrix. Blind channel estimation of time varying channel is considered for a SIMO system using only second order statistics (SoS) of the data. The time varying channel is described by complex exponential basis expansion model (CE-BEM). The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by simulation results to demonstrate its effectiveness.
