Abstract

Achieving QoS-based broadband wireless access means a lot for the people living in the information age. WiMAX has evolved now into a stage that we can say it can meet this demand. From among the various fields to study in this domain, call admission and scheduling are the strongest tools in our hand to ensure QoS. On the other side, exploiting mesh topology is a good technique to increase the network coverage and hence reach to the concept of everywhere access. In this paper we address the problem of joint call admission and local scheduling for UGS data traffics in mesh mode assuming that the order of link transmissions is breadth-first and no simultaneous transmission is allowed in the network. We show that even with these assumptions, it is possible to achieve one scheduling period delivery goal and reduce the delay significantly. Simulation results show drastic improvement compared to the standard algorithm.
