Abstract
The reduction of far-end crosstalk in coordinated digital subscriber line (DSL) systems has been proposed to increase their performance. Joint tone-line selection (JTLS) partial crosstalk cancellation helps reduce drastically the online computational complexity of the transmission. Several algorithms were considered but did not take into account the discrete bit-loading and its effect on the selection. In this paper, the problem of JTLS partial crosstalk cancellation in the case of discrete allocation of information in the multicarrier DSL systems is formulated. A genetic based algorithm is proposed to approach the solution. Its parameters are evaluated in order to carry out the crosstalk selection.
