Abstract
The COordinate Rotation DIgital Computer (CORDIC) algorithm in the backward circular rotation mode efficiently computes phase estimation. In this letter, a set of new rules are proposed to design a CORDIC processor to achieve a given signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). To this end, two new approximate expressions to estimate the SNR are derived accounting for the approximation and quantization errors, respectively.
