Abstract
The ring and toroidal cell layouts are commonly used to avoid the so called “edge effect” which may significantly bias performance modeling of wireless mobile systems. Both these layouts are applied to traffic analysis of cells operated in rural, suburban and urban environments. The obtained results are compared and validated against field data.
