Abstract
In this paper, a new Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) low power Quadrature Voltage Controlled Oscillator (QVCO) based on Chartered 0.18 μm Radio frequency (RF) CMOS technology for 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) applications is presented. Two explicit quadrature outputs can be realized at high impedance terminals of the QVCO, and it can be cascaded directly to the next stage of a communication system without any matching conditions. The post-layout simulation results show that the oscillation frequency of the QVCO can be tuned from 1.8 GHz to 2.4 GHz by changing the control voltage.
