Abstract
Let R(n)R(n) denote the number of representations of the positive number n as the sum of one prime and two squares of primes. It is established that the anticipated asymptotic formula for R(n)R(n) fails for at most O(N1/3+ε)O(N1/3+ε) positive integers not exceeding N.
