Abstract

Let LL be a very ample line bundle of degree dd on a general curve XX of genus g≥2g≥2. Here we prove that if d>g+max{6g,gh1(L)+2+1} then LL is globally generated, i.e. LL embeds XX as a projectively normal curve in PH0(L)PH0(L).
