Abstract
Quantum switching is a new topic in optic networks. The present study investigated 2×2 and 4×4 optical quantum switches. The design and routing of a butterfly network using a 4×4 non-blocking quantum switch is also examined. In addition to comparing unidirectional and two-directional butterfly networks using 2×2 and 4×4 quantum switches for the number of gates, network cost, and delay, a 4×4 non-blocking quantum switch was also analyzed.
