Abstract
We provide an overview of the progress in the field of high power continuous-wave supercontinuum generation over the past 5 years. In particular, we show how the development of dispersion-engineered photonic crystal fibers in our group has allowed the demonstration of a continuous-wave white-light supercontinuum source covering more than two octaves.
► Overview in continuous-wave supercontinuum generation. ► Basic physical mechanisms involved. ► Experiments leading to white-light generation from a continuous-wave laser.
