Abstract
In this paper, we show that for any two bases B and Bâ² of a regular matroid, there is an element eâB such that there is a unique element fâBâ² for which both (B\{e})âª{f} and (Bâ²\{f})âª{e} are bases of M. This solves a problem posed by White in 1980.
