Abstract
The UK government has estimated that by 2008 compliance with WEEE obligations will cost the UK in excess of £100 million annually. Although the new legislation is due to begin in January 2007 there are still some situations in which it is unclear whether equipment is actually regulated and if so, who will be responsible for compliance.
