Abstract
This article reviews in detail the recent Supreme Court decision in MGM v. Grokster 125 S.Ct. 2764 (2005) and its implications for third party liability for copyright infringement. This is the latest in a long line of cases in which the music industry has sought to assert its intellectual property. However, the advent of the Internet and other new technologies continue to pose significant challenges for the music and other entertainment industries. Many significant issues remain outstanding and a likely stimulus for future litigation.
