Abstract
An algorithm for the computation of the homogenized material properties of unidirectional fiber-reinforced laminae is described. The method of extraction is such that superconvergence is realized. It is shown that the homogenized material properties are substantially independent of the number of RVEs. An algorithm for the determination of the micromechanical solution over an RVE (localization) is described and the conditions that predictors of failure initiation must satisfy are stated.
