Abstract
The peristaltic transport of a third order fluid in a planar channel is considered. The fluid is electrically conducting by a transverse magnetic field. The perturbation solution is obtained using small Deborah number. Expressions of stream function, longitudinal velocity and pressure gradient valid for long wavelength are developed. Numerical integration is performed to analyze the effect of Hartman number on the pressure rise and frictional force. It is noted that both Hartman and Deborah numbers suppress the flow.
