Abstract
⺠We discuss the reliability of G. ventricosa as zonal marker for the Campanian. ⺠Specimens close to G. ventricosa are wrongly used to identify the G. ventricosa Zone. ⺠One species is formally described as new and named Globotruncana neotricarinata. ⺠We found a good sequence of foraminiferal bioevents useful for global correlations. ⺠The new mid Campanian Contusotruncana plummerae Zone is here defined.
