Abstract
Cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) is an emerging enzyme that is being investigated for applications in many fields including biosensors, biofuels, bioremediation, and textile processing and recently for several biomedical applications. This review summarizes the recent advances in the application of CDH in the biomedical field, particularly as a novel antimicrobial and antibiofilm agent, as biosesensor, and for the production of many biomedically important biomolecules. In fact, studies showed that the past decade has witnessed great strides in developing CDH-based systems for biomedical applications that opens new strategies for solving some of the perennial problems encountered in the biomedical field.
