Abstract
The purpose of the study is to examine whether creative drama (CD) education has an effect on critical thinking (CT) abilities of preservice physical education (PE) teachers. Participants comprised sixty-four students from a public university in central Turkey. The methodological framework for the study was an embedded mixed methods research design. ANCOVA tests revealed significant effects of CD on CT. After content analysis, the main emergent themes - utilization of critical thinking process and critical thinking dynamics involved in creative drama - also showed some evidence of improved CT abilities of preservice teachers.
