Abstract
We experimentally demonstrate the feasibility of implementing a cost effective all-optical fractional orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (AO-FrOFDM) receiver using an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG). The all-optical fractional Fourier transform at the receiver is implemented by modifying the second slab coupler from a conventional all-optical discrete Fourier transform AWG. The open eye diagrams obtained from the experimental results indicate that 12Â ÃÂ 10Â Gbit/s DBPSK AO-FrOFDM signals were successfully demultiplexed.
