Abstract
⺠The modified bacteria foraging algorithm is suitable for optimization problems with hard or high degree of constraints as compared to other related works following conventional algorithms. ⺠The rate of convergence is faster in case of the modified bacteria foraging algorithm. ⺠The proposed modified bacteria foraging optimization yields dimensions and the maximum reach (Lmax) of the manipulator very close to the actual values.
