Abstract
:Volunteered geographic information (VGI) phenomenon offers an alternative mechanism for the acquisition of geospatial information. It has shown its effectiveness in various applications such as disaster management. However VGI suffers from a general lack of metadata quality assurance. This paper proposes an approach that aims to enhance VGI process by evaluating geospatial metadata quality. We introduce a set of indicators for geospatial metadata quality and we propose a method to evaluate them with respect to the context of VGI.
