Abstract
The paper is twofold. First a numerical scheme called network repairing technique is proposed for simultaneous topology and sizing optimization of pipe networks. Secondly, a new hybrid multiobjective evolutionary algorithm based on real code population-based incremental learning and differential evolution is developed. The new method and other multiobjective evolutionary algorithms are implemented to tackle the new multiobjective design problems of pipe network. Comparative results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm is efficient. The network repairing technique can effectively repair unusable network topologies.
