Abstract
Almost all of the existing near field sources localization techniques use an approximated model of the spherical wavefront to reduce the computational complexity. This approximation adds a systematic bias to the estimated range and angle of arrival (AOA) when the received signal has the spherical wavefront. In this paper, we propose an efficient correction method to mitigate the systematic error introduced by the use of the approximated model in the existing near field sources localization techniques. The performance of the correction method is shown by simulation results.
