Abstract
This paper establishes a novel criterion for the global asymptotic stability of two-dimensional fixed-point state-space digital filters described by Roesser model with saturation nonlinearities. The criterion makes use of a precise upper bound of the system state vector together with a novel passivity property associated with the saturation nonlinearities. The criterion is presented in a linear matrix inequality (LMI) setting, and hence, computationally tractable. A comparison of the presented criterion with several existing criteria is made.
