Abstract
⺠We present a time-delay model of a vertical oilwell drillstring. ⺠The proposed model effectively reproduces oscillations in real wells. ⺠We find stabilizing controllers to suppress undesirable vibrations. ⺠The proposed methodology is based on the attractive sets principle. ⺠The effectiveness of our approach is validated through simulations.
