Abstract
► The proposed method provides instantaneous voiced/non-voiced (V/NV) detection. ► Marginal energy density with respect to time (MEDT) is used to detect V/NV regions. ► The advantage of computing MEDT over the low frequency range is demonstrated. ► The proposed method is robust to noise. ► No prior information of glottal closure instants or pitch frequency is required.
