Abstract
The use a flooded condenser is widely but only qualitatively discussed in a host of papers and books. What has not appeared in the literature is how this condenser configuration can be easily simulated using commercial simulators. That is the purpose of this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of flooded condensers are discussed and a quantitative comparison of the effectiveness of pressure control between manipulating cooling water flowrate and manipulating condenser flooding is presented.
