Abstract
In this paper, we disclosed an innovative evaporator design of loop heat pipe (LHP) for low-cost manufacturing to bring the production cost down dramatically for commercial applications. The cost of a 100Â W LHP is less than 20 USD in mass production. The yield rate in mass production is higher than 90%. The LHP was successfully used in LED luminaire, solar water heater, and thermoelectric power generator to dissipate heat. More than 30,000Â LHPs were manufactured and used in various products during the past 10Â years. No any LHP failure was reported so far.
