Abstract
A mapped infinite partition of unity method is developed to solve frequency domain acoustic applications for convected radiation in axisymmetric domains. The paper presents the formulation and the discretization technique. The partition of unity method is coupled with infinite elements based on the Astley–Leis conjugated formulation. The performances of the method are analysed on two applications: convected propagation in an uniform duct and dipole radiation. The aim of such a method compared to the classical finite element method is to solve shortwave applications with a respectable level of accuracy.
