Abstract
In this paper we review some classical algorithms for fluid–structure interaction problems and we propose an alternative viewpoint mutuated from the domain decomposition theory. This approach yields preconditioned Richardson iterations on the Steklov–Poincaré nonlinear equation at the fluid–structure interface.
