Abstract
A method for the dynamical analysis of finite element discretized uncertain structures is proposed. It is an extension of a recently proposed static approach to the dynamical field. It overcomes the accuracy drawbacks of the perturbation approaches, usually adopted for this kind of structures. By taking into account some important properties of the finite element natural modes, it allows us to obtain some explicit relationships between the system response and the random variables defining the uncertain parameters. In this way the probabilistic characterization of the structural response can be easily performed.
