Abstract
A porous Au modified glassy carbon electrode (Autemp/GCE) is prepared by co-electrodeposition of Au and Au-based Prussian blue (PB) analogue template in an aqueous bath containing HAuCl4 and PB-precursors, followed by removal of the PB analogue template by alkali and then acidic treatments. The Autemp/GCE has large surface area (roughness factor = 64.6) and is employed to determine As(III) based on anodic stripping linear sweep voltammetry (ASLSV) in a dual-signal mode. Under optimal conditions, the ASLSV peak currents for oxidation of As(0) to As(III) and of As(III) to As(V) are linear with concentration of As(III) from 0.025 to 10 μM with a sensitivity of 1.13 mA μM−1 and a limit of detection (LOD) of 6.6 nM (0.49 μg L−1) (S/N = 3), and from 0.025 to 3.0 μM with a sensitivity of 0.88 mA μM−1 and a LOD of 8.5 nM (0.63 μg L−1) (S/N = 3), respectively. Determination of As(III) in real water samples on the Autemp/GCE yields satisfactory results.
